Hydraulic motor driven trailer equipment, including fuel and milk tankers, as well as belt unloading trailers, typically require a small amount of oil for operation but
often demand significant volumes of oil to maintain the system’s optimal operating temperature. While using bulk oil is an option, a hydraulically driven oil cooler stands out as the preferred choice.

Both options enable the hydraulic system’s functionality, but the oil cooler option offers the advantage of reducing overall weight while still ensuring that the correct system operating temperature is maintained. This compact system not only increases payload capacity but also maximises the truck’s fuel efficiency. Should bulk oil be the way to go, we offer a large range of hydraulic tank options to meet your specific needs.

We offer a range of add-ons and accessories for a fuel haul kit including completing a Dangerous Goods fit out and a Safe-2-Load Pass.

Junior Hydraulic Technician

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Junior Hydraulic Technician to join the team at Melbourne Hydraulics based in Keysborough.

No experience required, but motivation and a willingness to work are essential! We are happy to teach you everything you need to know if you are willing to learn!

The role will predominantly involve fitting hydraulic equipment to brand-new heavy vehicles. You will be working on brands including Kenworth, DAF, Mercedes Benz, and Scania and your duties will include:

  • Fitting PTO’s & Pumps
  • Manufacturing hydraulic hose assemblies
  • Installation of hydraulic components to brand new heavy vehicles

The role will suit you if you’re looking to secure a fulfilling future with a dynamic and growing company.

Hydraulic Fitter / Technician

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Hydraulic Fitter and Technician to join our staff on a full-time basis, overseeing the fitting and installation of hydraulic components to trucks and manufacturing hose assemblies.

 Duties & responsibilities:

  • Fit PTO’s and hydraulic pumps
  • Manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies
  • Installation of components to brand new heavy vehicles
  • Component repairs
  • Handle some occasional electrical and pneumatic work
  • Conduct audits of machinery to ensure hydraulics are operating correctly
  • Use fault finding skills to pinpoint and resolve issues
  • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to

 

Experience & attributes:

  • Prior experience with hydraulics is advantageous, though non-essential
  • Certificate III In Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology is advantageous
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Current Australian driver’s license
  • Neat personal presentation
  • Keen eye for details
  • Great organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills with a range of customers and colleagues
