Float

Float

A float trailer is a type of trailer used for transporting oversized and heavy cargo, such as construction equipment, machinery, oversized containers, industrial materials, and large structures. Float trailers are characterised by their flat, open, and unenclosed design, which allows for the easy loading and securing of irregularly shaped or oversized items.

Our float kit is a comprehensive solution designed to provide the necessary components to power a float trailer, low loader and drop deck efficiently. Primarily, our hydraulic setup is designed to drive hydraulic ramps, hydraulic landing legs, and/or a hydraulic winch, with the valving located on the trailer itself.

In our standard hydraulic arrangement, we fit the prime mover with a supply and return line, ensuring reliable hydraulic power with the system to set to a robust 2000psi pressure and a maximum flow rate of 60 litres per minute.

Activating the hydraulic system is as simple as engaging the PTO switch, which engages the PTO to initiate the trailer’s hydraulic functions. Safety is paramount, and our system includes a safety relief valve to protect the pump in the event of accidental hydraulic line disconnections. To maximise uptime and minimise potential damage, all our hoses are fully spiral guarded. This added layer of protection prevents rub-through and damage, providing you with a reliable and durable hydraulic system.
